CEBU PACIFIC FLIES TO COTABATO
Cebu Pacific (CEB) has added another route to its domestic service: daily flights between Manila and Cotabato City starting today, June 8, 2005. The Manila-Cotabato flight departs Manila at 6:50 a.m. and Cotabato at 8:55 a.m.
Bong Mojica, CEB General Manager, said the Manila-Cotabato service plays an important part in the airline’s vision of making travel within the country easier and more convenient for both local and foreign travelers. “The service comes at a time when Cotabato is fast becoming a major eco-agricultural hub in the region,” he said.
Cotabato City is strategic since it serves as an entry point of goods and services coming from the Illana bay and distribution center for these goods to the rest of Mindanao. Tourism-wise, the city showcases year-round festivities and tourist spots. It has the second highest number of tourist arrivals in Region 12 last year.
The Cotabato Airport is capable of accommodating medium-sized aircraft, and will soon be elevated into international standards.
This new service brings to 15 the number of domestic destinations CEB services. The airline, a unit of JG Summit Holdings, Inc., flies from two hubs: Manila and Cebu. The Cebu hub services intra-Visayas-Mindanao cities and Puerto Princesa. It also flies to Hong Kong, South Korea and China.
CEB is known for on-time service, setting a standard in the local industry for punctuality that is at par with global standards.
